Cherry Eye

Cherry eye is a common condition inherited in certain breeds of dogs.

When the gland in the third eyelid swells, it creates a small pink bulge which covers part of the eye. The recommended treatment is surgery to replace the gland to its normal position at the base of the third eyelid where it cannot be seen and can function normally.  There are several different surgical techniques and we will assess your pet to ensure the best treatment is given.
